Hello, my name is Paul Sprague
I go by Toolpig on most tool related sites, especially Instagram. Here is just a sample of some of the tools I am currently putting through the paces.
I have always been fascinated with tools. When I was growing up I had to make do with very few good Power Tools and I can still feel the frustration that goes along with a meager arsenal of tools. I also feel the frustration that comes with buying what I thought was a great tool and finding out it was not so great.
I decided years ago to learn from other people’s mistakes and research before buying. Before the internet I asked fellow tradespeople which tools they liked and why. I still do but with the incredible amount of information available today, I check out what people from around the world say in seconds on my iPhone.
I want to be part of that overall voice that can be heard with a simple search. I have over 30 years of experience in the building trades and working with all types of power tools. I get what works and what doesn’t. I have a firm grasp on the qualities that make the difference between a tool that simply gets the Job done and one that actually makes work a pleasure. I constantly strive to find the very best in each category. This means that I am not stuck on any particular brand. I will use ANY brand if it is well made and the ergonomics are good. If a tool has good dust extraction then it has a much better chance of being at the top of my list.
It is my sincere hope that my reviews will help you to avoid frustration and make the decision making process easier when you are buying tools of your own.
Thanks for visiting
Hi. I see that you don’t update your page too often.
I know that writing content is boring and time consuming.
But did you know that there is a tool that allows you to create new posts using existing content (from article
directories or other pages from your niche)? And it does it
very well. The new posts are high quality
and pass the copyscape test. You should try miftolo’s tools
I want to see reviews of sheetmetal shears. Corded or cordless. Drill attachment style and stand alone. I know Bosch makes a great corded unishear do they make a cordless? What about a cordless bubbler? I don’t use bubblers but if someone made a good cordless one I would.
A 12volt drill/driver roundup. I find most of my needs are filled using my older 12volt drills and if I upgrade i would like some guidance on which route to go.
Would love to see any of the Self Leveling Cross Line Lasers in action! Appreciate all that you do for those newbies out in the world!!

I’d love to see a review of the Bosch app that accompanies their laser measure tools and how it composed to others. That would be great to understand which hardware is worth investing in! Thanks! @ejminnovations
Everyone needs someone and who better then toolpig. You’re a good man Paul. Thanks for the giveaways. I could use a good jigsaw to add to my tool collection.
I’d like to see a video on the read table saw.
I would like to see the Bosch lasers in comparasion to the dewalts. I’ve always been a fan of the dewalts and am in the market for a green laser. I hear allot about the dewalt but don’t really hear about the Bosch lasers.
I have the red laser under evaluation right now. The green is coming soon I hope!
I would like to see the Reaxx table saw being reviewed.
You continue to give ideas on how I can do things better. And keep me moving forward to know that sometimes there is a better way!
I would like to see a review of the Reaxx job site table saw,
Thanks
Brad
I’m in! Anything about Bosch. We want to see the new stuff.
I haven’t checked yet… But have you done any reviews on the Bosch router guide?
Hey can you review the Bosch 1619EVS Plunge Router? I believe the world needs a toolpig to have insightful information about the tools of the trade. Efficiency and quality are two things my company and I strive for and a toolpig allows me to choose the best tools and make the right decisions when investing in my company through tools.
I hope you pick me ToolPig! I can really utilize this jigsaw for my upcoming custom table projects and more!
I’d like to see a review of the new, Colt Electric variable speed palm router!
I want to see a review of a big bad SDS that shows why Bosch is the concrete king!

Maybe one day i’ll get myself a jigsaw if this doesn’t find its way into my hands hahah
Also, I found out on PC I can login using my Twitter account, which makes it much easier
I would like to see some of the Bosch SDS tools reviewed
I love the reviews since I’m not married to one brand. I like compiling the best of each type of tool and this helps narrow it down. Additionally tips and tricks for a DIYer are key, I love finally knowing how pros do certain things.
Would love to know your thoughts about the new Bosch Reaxx table saw! Been in the market for a nice home/ jobsite saw for a while and it looks pretty sweet!
The world needs someone to lol out for us! That’s why we need Tool Pig!
Would love to see a review of the 1250DEVS and how it compares to other higher end random orbit sanders (Festool, etc). Thanks!
The world need a tool pig because us newbies sometimes have no idea what amazing tools are out there to get the job done faster and with better accuracy and all with out a salesman bias. I pretty new to woodworking , I’m an architect, so I come here to find better tools to do the job!
Please review the Bosch masonry dust collection gaurd.
I’d like to see a review that discusses how the Bluetooth works in some of their lazer measures. I’d also like to hear about their track saw and how versatile the track system is.
Please review the Bosch professional circular saw blades!
Awesome content, I’d like more info on the Bosch lasers and measuring tools, a couple have been on my wish list for a while now.
Would like to see the Bosch 1617EVSPK router reviewed and compared to other routers equal in size.
I’d like to see the Bosch laser cross reviewed.
Honest to goodness reviews. ‘Nough said.
I would like to see the new cordless bulldog hammer drills reviewed if you haven’t already
Because I can make informed decisions confidently. For example: I bought the TSO GRS-16 guide rail square after seeing your short video about how to store it. I’d never heard of it or see it before, and I’ve always been annoyed with measuring and marking twice for cross cuts on my sheet goods. Love it! Thanks for all you do, Paul!
Glad you like it Dawson! Thanks for the kind words??
The world needs a toolpig so the rest of us tool pigs have a representative out in media land. I personally do not have the resources to have all the major brands of cordless saws but I love when toolpig does his side by side races for different tools .
Would love to see a comparison of the smart point finish nailers vs another brand!
I’ve just got the Bosch socket ready impact gun, and would love to hear a review from someone else to see if you also think it’s as kick ass as I do!
Please review the Bosch 12v MaxEC
Why do we need a tool pig well it’s simple really like you said in your bio , the pain and frustration when you go out and buy a new tool and you are never sure if the website reviews are genuine or are written by people who work for that company , also if they have a specific feature to that tool you can’t say hay how did you find the side mounted switch for example where as someone like yourself the great toolpig I can ask you questions all day long and you somehow put up with us ?I would love to see the gbh 18v black edition please as I have John st brought one and will like to know your opinion 🙂
Glm 40
The glm 40 or any laser measuring tool, especially one for outdoor use.
As I see I’m not the first for the new table saw request. Also I’d like to see something on the plung router. Thanks!
@toolpig i would love to see more routers being tested from a small cordless ridgid palm router to a handheld cnc ?As they are all very different and have a wide price range i think we could benifit and know before buying an expensive router that doesnt perform as expected….
I would like to see the glm 40, interested in laser measuring devices especially something for outdoor use. Keep up the great reviews.
Love your site! I’m trying to learn how to use tools and fix some of the little jobs around the house myself. Would love to see you do a review on the Bosch sander. I have a couple of end tables and a coffee table, and would love to sand and restain them. Thanks!
I’d love to see a review of the Bosch Reaxx table saw or their joiners. IG @sawdustandsmoke
Festool miter saw
I may be in the market to upgrade my entry level table saw soon, so it would be nice to see a comparison of what’s out there (Bosch) and if some of the features are really worth it for a mid-entry level woodworking hobbyist. Thanks!!
I’d like to see the festool miter saws reviewed
I’m just here to try to win the Bosch jig saw. I’ve been following you insta for a while
I would like to see A review of the 1/2 Bosch Impact Wrench
What’s up with the Bosch table saw with the blade stop feature?
I would like to see a review of the new RH328VC-36K – that seems to be a badass rotary hammer
The world needs a toolpig because the world needs tools, and who better to test them than a bonafide pig! ? I have had the Bosch Laser Distance measure for a couple years, great little tool! I love the square and cubic ft option! Ever review or compare any other branded laser?
Why does the world need a toolpig? Well before toolpig, researching tools was very similar to researching what truck to buy. People are very quick to give you their opinion. However that opinion is almost alway solely based on their biased brand loyalty. Tool manufacturers rarely helped the matter. Just listing difficult to understand or misleading statistics. Actually finding preactical real world head to head comparisons or honest appraisals of the useability, value, ergonomics, durability etc of tools was almost impossible. Thank goodness for toolpig others like him! Now I always check for a unbiased practical review when considering any tool and most of the time toolpig has something to say about whatever I am considering. Thank you Paul! Please keep up the good work!
With regard to your Bosch jigsaw post: would love to see a review of the Bosch Dust extractors! How they compare to the metabo, Makita, and festool.
Thanks again toolpig

Keep forgetting about your website. I like reading the full scale review in this format, just not as easy to navigate as Instagram….
If you could review the Bosch breaker jack hammer, I would love to see you get your hands on one to try out!
@knarlycarl I would love to! I just don’t know if that’s feasable.
Add one for the reaxx Bosch table saw.
Would also love a review on the Millwaukee m18 miter saw. I know the dewalt is better but I am currently all red cept paslode nailers.
Keep up the good work and thanks for the giveaway. I would be embaressed if others saw my current jigsaw…..thanks for the chance:)
Hey Gabriel, thanks I am trying to get a reaxx. They are hard to come by right now.
Very helpful website and user friendly. Your reviews save people a lot of money in the long run from not having to filter through the junk tools themselves.
I’d like to see a review of some tile saws. Thanks
Love toolpig. Iwould love to see the orbital sander reviewed in depth.
Hello Paul. Definitely a big fan of your Instagram feed. I’ll have to start checking your website more now too. So my thoughts on ‘why the world needs a toolpig’ is this; before “toolpig”, doing research on power tools was like doing research on used trucks. Everyone will tout their favorite brand regardless of if it’s actually the best proforming tool in its category. The manufacturers just give you a lot of numbers and statistics and sadly sometimes pad the numbers to make their tool look better. Finding an actual head to head comparison in a real world situation or an honest objective opinion of the tools performance was almost impossible! Thank goodness for you and the other reviewers on Instagram! Now before I buy any tool I check to see if you’ve tested it first. I really appreciate what you do. Please keep it up!
My buddy @fusionmetalcrafters turned me on to your page. So far I’m enjoying it. I LOVE ❤️ Festool products but I can’t always justify spending the extra money so the reviews are what I look forward to the most. Thanks and keep up the great work.
I really enjoy your reviews. It is nice to see real reviews and not just reviews on store websites where you don’t k ow of the person really used the tool or has any real experience.
I would like to see reviews of “best bang for your buck” tools. I.e. This tool does 95% of what that tool can do but for $$ less.
Josh,
I like your take on all this?? I’ll keep it in mind. Sometimes I lose focus trying to find the absolute best.
Love to see a review of their compound chop saw. My father has one and it seems to be second to none. Curious what the other sliders out there have that this one doesn’t. I have yet to purchase one so curious on the review.
Why? Because not everyone has the opportunity to use all these tools, whether for their given trade or hobby, so it’s great to have someone to review tools that we didn’t even know existed….i.e. A lot of the new Milwaukee light systems! Thanks for your all your hard work!
Hey Paul, I would like for you to review the Bosch dust extractor vac0809a. I ordered one and I’m sure I’ll have questions about it and I would like to hear your thoughts about it. Thanks
Toolpig, Bosch runs the market with digital measuring devices. Let’s see some reviews and comparisons with a few of theirs, been in the market and not sure to low end or high end.
I’d like to know your thoughts on the two different sizes of the dual bevel miter saws. I’m mostly interested in the cut capacity and is it worth spending the extra money for the larger saw.
I would like to see Bosch joiners reviewed I haven’t seen one and festtool is to expensive for me.
Not sure I would call it a tool, but you should get a Bosch PB360C Power Box and review it.
Paul….please do an in-depth look at the new Bosch cordless impact that has both 1/2 inch deep socket and 1/4 hex driver tips. Xavier @ninzanstudio on IG.
Hello,
From the instagram contest, love to see the RHS181 18v compact SDS hammer drill tool put to the test.
Is this a tool that I can rip up glue down hardwood flooring with?
I want to see big routers on router tables
I would love to see battle of the jig saws. Which one can follow a line best.
+1 for the reaxx table saw.
Hello,
I follow your IG page, love the content and the unbiased opinions. Really helps contractors like myself in buying the right tools. Anyways, would love to see a comparison on dust extractors. Festool, Metabo, Bosch are the three im mostly interested in. Not sure if there are many others worth noting. Thanks, and keep it up!! ?
I would love to see some more chorded tools reviewed, their circular saw, and they’re rotary hammers.
I would love to see a review of the Bosch 12″ Dual Bevel Slide Miter Saw and what your thoughts are on it compared to other 12″ saws. I love what you are doing! Keep it up!!
I would love to see you review the NAINA Bosch 10.8v (12v) rotary tool. I will be buying one from Amazon UK soon and would really love to see you put it through the paces.
Thanks again for your honest reviews and comedic undertones.
Have you reviewed the Bosch duel mode 6″ random orbit sander?
Really curious to read more about the Bosch green laser that I’ve seen pop up here and there and how it compares with the more traditional lasers that everyone uses.
Maybe some kind of distance comparison and accuracy comparison . I dunno if those are really practical camparisons….just some ideas.
– @wlfpk
Hello,
From the instagram contest, love to see a bosch router combo put to the test.
This is my entry for the #toolpigboschtoolsnagiveaway and what I would like to see reviewed is the Bosch Reaxx Table saw.
I’d love to see a review of the Bosch Brushless Socket Ready Impact Driver. Such a simple but ingenious idea. Very curious how it holds up to some real world punishment. Love the Bosch SDS and SDS Max lineup. I’ve seen them put through a lot and deal with the punishment very well. Hoping they did the same with this impact. Keep up the good work Toolpig!!!!
I would like you to review the Bosch cordless sds rotary hammer. I have been interested in these and would like your input compared to other cordless sds you have used. Thanks.
Do you have the D-TECT150? Would be nice to see a real world review of this scanner.
IG = @58chev_delray
I’m glad to see you expanding your Web presence. For bosch tools, I’d love to see a review of the 4100 or reaxx table saws or a comparison of starlock and ois multitool blades from bosch.
Thanks Nate. The blades I can do. I have repeatedly requested a reaxx saw but have been pushed back each time. I will keep trying especially since the bogging and amperage spike problem was fixed.
Glad you started the website. I follow your instagram also. I have a question for you regarding cordless miter saws. I have the Makita xsl02z and am blown away by the power that it has and the only complaint I have is the depth of cut at times. I was very happy to see the dewalt 60v x2 12″ miter saw. Because you have used both saws what do you think of their side by side cutting ability? Obviously the Makita has less depth of cut but I can’t imagine a cordless saw having more power. I love the Makita but the Dewalt could act as my only saw because of overall capacity but I don’t want to miss the smoothness and power of the little Makita. Thanks.
Thanks Marc,
I haven’t used the DeWalt yet. I can’t wait to do so! The power is supposed to be equal to corded. If that is the case then the Makita is the most powerful miter saw on the planet. It easily smokes my corded DeWalt for large crosscuts. Like 8/4 cherry. I am selling my DeWalt 780 to help buy the new flex volt. I need a full size saw. The Makita is great for most casing and general carpentry but I need a 12″ sometimes. I will use both together or alternately. I can’t do one or the other. I say keep the Makita for ultimate power and portability and buy the DeWalt for he big stuff??
Hi Paul, do you have any interests about battery?
Ann I am not sure what you are asking. I am interested in batteries for sure. They are necessary to make the tools what they are today. Any advances in battery technology improve performance of the tools.
Milwaukee 3/4 impact have you played with it or worked with it?
I have not used the 3/4″ Milwaukee Impact wrenches. I have the 1/2″ fuel and it is my favorite. The DeWalt has a little more power and the Makita BL has even more but I still like the feel of the fuel wrench best.
I agree. The fuel 1/2 inch impact is the best. I’d like to see you review the Bosch 1/2 impact wrench that has a chuck.
What area do you reside from don’t have to be exact. Not sure if this is seen by everyone but do you get paid by the distibutors or just loans of tools to try? In the trade myself and Like what i see. keep up the good wotk. Great ig page!
I am close to Kansas City. I do not get paid by any companies. Up until May I bought every single tool on my page. Since then Milwaukee and Makita have come on board with review samples. Festool has promised some. I am set to meet with Bosch. DeWalt has not approached me as of yet but it is only a matter of time. Toolpig is growing and they will want a piece of the action. I really am trying to find the best. No company has the best tools in every category. i love them all! ??????
